The Psychology Department provides psychological services to persons with an intellectual disability within Cheeverstown Services incorporating Early Intervention Services, Children’s Services, Vocational Adult Services, and Residential Community Services. The Psychologists work closely with families and staff as part of multidisciplinary teams, to develop and maintain a range of psychological interventions and supports through the provision of information and skills training to services users, families and others in order to promote service users well-being and quality of life. In addition, the department contributes to policy development, staff training, service planning, research / evaluation, provision of training placements for Psychologists in training and the development of innovative evidence based psychological interventions, in conjunction with other clinical colleagues
