In partnership with FÁS, Cheeverstown operates a community employment scheme.
Community Employment provides eligible unemployed people and other disadvantaged persons with an opportunity to engage in useful work within their communities on a temporary basis.
It helps long-term unemployed people to re-enter the active workforce by breaking their experience of unemployment through a return to a work routine and to assist them to enhance/develop both their technical and personal skills.
The operation of Cheeverstown CE Scheme involves approximately 20 staff ongoing daily running of the services including housekeepers, care assistance, maintenance, catering, administration and gardening and horticulture.
Cheeverstown in conjunction with FÁS provides targeted training to participants. Training is undertaken both in-house and by third parties in accordance with a training plan that is agreed by the participant and CE Scheme Supervisor annually.
Applicants to the Cheeverstown CE Scheme must satisfy the FÁS registration requirements. Once eligible, a person can apply for a position on the scheme.
For further information, please contact Mr. Chris Wall CE Scheme Supervisor on (01)4993732. Additional information is also available on the FÁS website.
